Very ready, and very talked to. He's had the general workings of the school explained to him, as well as some basic syllabus fragments to keep him interested, since they couldn't have a hatching with all the chaos. Now that it's Sunday, Temeraire is resting in the warm room put aside for draconic use beneath the cafeteria, watching the egg with a faintly brooding air. And a strong hope that whatever it's like, the dragon isn't anything like Iskierka.

The first thing Rikku did once she got home from Harry's surprise was shower.

The next thing she did was to figure out where they had put the dragon egg. She wanted to see how it was doing; after all, it had been nearly crushed! What if the dragon died?

Thankfully, finding the room wasn't too hard, and she quietly slipped into the warm room. "Heya. How's it...whoa, are those cracks normal?" Rikku asked, looking at the egg.

As if to answer her question, the egg rocks and the cracks expand. The cracks were normal for a hatching, and the dragon inside definitely had not died; it rather wanted to come out.

Rikku backed up, well and truly worried now.

"Uh, Temeraire," she muttered, "I think something's wrong!"
