WHO: Tim Drake, OPEN WHERE: Wherever outside on school ground. WHEN: October 29th? Middle of the week! WHAT: Tim's reading. Come poke him? FORMAT: Paragraph. WARNINGS: None.
Wanda grew up mostly out of doors, and feels most comfortable in open spaces. Thus, she spends a fair amount of time wandering the grounds of the Xavier Institute. It is a matter of further convenience that she often stumbles upon classmates on her directionless meanders, thus providing both comfort and company.
Such was the case this afternoon. Wanda didn't recognize the boy beneath the tree, but she hadn't been here long enough to know if that meant he was new or just didn't share any classes with her. She wouldn't find out without asking, though, so she altered her path to carry it towards him, summoning up an easy smile.
Tim can tell someone is walking by from the sounds Wanda is making but he doesn't assume that she's doing so in his direction. He glances up from his book to take a subtle look at her, until it's completely clear that, yes, indeed, she's going in his direction. Only then does he look up at her in an obvious manner.
Her face is vaguely familiar, but he can't put a name on it. It obviously means he hasn't spent enough time looking at everyone's profiles on the message board.
Her smile broadens when he looks up, and Wanda peers down at him, curious. She speaks with careful enunciation around a heavy Russian accent. "Are you new here? I do not recognize you, but maybe only because I am still new, myself."
This is when the fact he was reading Turgenev's First Love should he either really awkward or amusing. He's not sure which one it is exactly, but he's not going to bring the attention to the book.
"Ah -- yes? I arrived last week only." There is a beat before he smiles and adds, "I'm Tim."
He would offer his hand to shake if he wasn't sitting down while she's still standing up.
Tim looks up from his book immediately, spending a moment to associate the person standing in front of him to a name. Not that he's going to use said name even if he knows it, he just likes... having some sort of ground to stand on.
"Just -- reading. Before it's too cold to do so outside."
Thinking this is as good a place to sit as any, Doug sits down next to the boy. "Yeah, I know the feeling. I was looking for a place to sit outside before that got to uncomfortable to."

He looks at the page number he's at before closing the book and put it down by him.
"We're in Computer Science together, aren't we?"
