Joshua usually didn't pay much attention to the wildlife, or anything outside really- he was very much an indoor person who preferred bright city lights to nature any day. So if a normal squirrel had run by, he would have paid no mind.

But this was not a normal squirrel. This was a flying, pink squirrel, that looked remarkably like one of Mr. H's art projects.

He was also directly in its flight path.

So intent was she on racing away from the cry of the bird that caused so much fear that she didn't even see the boy in her path. The first thing she did was slam directly into lavender-blue cloth that made up his shirt.

She froze, clawed feet clinging to the material as best as possible, the tiny head looking up, up...round eyes seemed to encase a human-like fearfulness in addition to the animalistic instinct that then told her to flee from this other creature.

Pushing off from his shirt, she flitted up and then immediately clung to the nearest thing of safe altitude as the cry--seemingly closer--reached her sensitive ears again, chittering squeaks that made her sound scared escaping as she just tried to hide on that little safe place, heart racing at a million miles an hour (or so it seemed).

Unfortunately for the newcomer, that "safe spot" was his head.

Normally, any of these signs would have tipped someone off. However, Joshua was far to used to hanging around Mr. H to differentiate an actually sentient squirrel from any number of art creatures that fed off Mr. H's subconscious and had a fondness for perching in his hair.

So instead of being actually worried, the teen merely sighed and raised a hand to shield the little animal from whatever was after it, starting inside with the intent to find the art teacher.

"Why is there a squirrel in your hair?" Neku had been walking back from the cafeteria after eating an early dinner. He hadn't expected to run into Joshua at this time but, then again, Joshua seemed to have a knack for showing up around Neku.

He wondered if Joshua had gone off and gotten a pet. If so he felt sorry for the thing.

[ooc: I'm not sure if Neku can hear Rhyme's thoughts or not since she's in a squirrel form...so just let me know if he can]

And with that Rhyme jumped from the teacher's head to the head of the boy who could understand her--the one with the headphones. She almost missed him, but clung to the hard material that made up the band of his headphones, heart again racing as she was worried of what his "help" would entail.

If she were human, she would be biting her lip as she looked down at the mess of orange she now sat in. '...you can hear me? I'm glad.' She thought, still nervous but obviously relieved that someone understood her at least. 'I don't know what happened...I must have been scared by one of the birds here...My name's Rhyme, and I really am a student here. Not an art project! She made sure not to dig her claws too much into his scalp, but rather she allowed her wings to fold back a bit and simply rest against the boy's head, heart still racing from so many different things running through her head that, now that she was relaxed, decided to flood ( ... )

Neku nodded, he had a feeling he was going to be stuck "translating" for the girl until they figured out what to do for her. Well, at least until they got another psychic maybe. He didn't look too thrilled about this prospect. He practically jumped when the female student turned squirrel flew over to perch on his head. He tried to peer up at her, but she was on top of his head. "Careful with the headphones," he cried, putting one hand to one of the headphone earcups to steady it even as she gripped the headband ( ... )

Sanae rubbed the back of his head, a little embarrassed in response to Neku's look, "Well, I figured that out..." Of course she wasn't an art project--there wasn't another student who could copy his style that well, nonetheless make it come to life...

The poor girl must be terrified, she was shaking like a leaf. There wasn't a transformation teacher for him to bring her to... He reached out to pet the little pink squirrel, "Calm down, Pinky. You'll be fine--there's no birds and nothing will hurt you." He chuckled softly, trying to calm her down, "Everything will be fine, I promise. Is there anyone we can get for you? Anyone familiar with your power?"

Joshua really didn't see what they could do to help the girl- after all, none of them knew anything about this sort of thing and Neku did not seem thrilled with translating. "We should probably at least head inside," he suggested with a sigh, "If nothing else, maybe someone will see her and have an idea. Best case being we find someone who knows her."
