Perhaps an exaggeration, however! MONSTERS ARE RUNNING LOOSE ALL OVER THE COUNTY.
Those who have been paying attention will have noticed the strange happenings reported in the news lately -- surrounding the much-debated Tricell X-Gene research. The team, led by the once brilliant scientist Doctor Farrell, seems to have run into trouble lately and Doctor Farrell himself appears to be out of contact.
The X-Gene research project has spun out of control. Doctor Farrell has been conducting cruel experiments, not only on test creatures -- but on himself. Rumour has it that Farrell became stuck in a rut, frustrated by a lack of progress -- and was approached by a mysterious yet beautiful member of the Brotherhood of Mutants who had been sent to sabotage Tricell. He was promised help in his study of the X-gene, help to complete his project and make all the brilliant breakthroughs that will have him hailed for the genius he is. In return, of course, for aiding the Brotherhood. Driven by a desire to obtain respect from his peers, Farrell has lost his mind and has ended up creating monsters that now run loose through the county causing havoc for a society he feels does not respect his genius. Does not appreciate progress, does not support the betterment of mankind and its evolution the way the Brotherhood does.
The institute is a safe zone, but others are not so lucky.
MINI-EVENT OF SORTS!
This is totally optional. If you do not want to be involved, you can stay completely safe inside the institute. However! This in-game Friday to Sunday, go out and about and you might just encounter some monsters! Once regular animals, they are now mutated to be harder better faster, stronger and overall more dangerous. This event is a FREE FOR ALL, therefore you are welcome to use this post to plot what you want to do with other people. Go out and act as a little justice squad? Get attacked and get saved by someone else? Whatever you like! There will be a large open log mod-posted tomorrow, however you are welcome to use the event to make your own closed logs.
If you want to go after Farrell, he is currently hidden away in his mansion. He is... well, a little different now to the small quiet scientist he once was. Ever heard of the Incredible Hulk? Not so far off. If anyone does want to hunt him down, be warned -- he is right in the heart of the mansion in his secret lab and there are lots of bits of malfunctioning equipment and monsters in your way. Drop us a line here and we can work out all the details so you can have fun with that <3
