[Present for Reki]

Feb 14, 2011 21:34

[On Wednesday, Reki will find a rather fancy Rubik's Cube outside his office. It is actually a combination of eight smaller cubes, each one with three black faces that are attracted magnetically in a certain combination. Also, each tiny square has a ring of lights inside that change the color after a set amount of time, which you can change to 10 ( Read more... )

[Reki returns from the computer lab, late in the evening. Before him is still a few more hours of work in his office. But for once, it's work that he's willingly absorbing himself in. So many personal hours have been put into this project, and it's something he thinks will be great once completed.]

[Something inside him tells Reki it's electrical nature, part of his mutation perhaps... which brings him more caution. He really only knows one person who'd build something and leave it at his door.]

[... Did Jack finally decide to get revenge for the foiled bank hacking attempt?]

[Feeling confident that if something decided to go off, Reki could use his mutation to shut it off, he bends down and picks the object up. He nearly drops it as the cube lights up.] GAH!

[And then it dawns on him what this is.]

Jack... you really--Why do you waste your time trying to take over the world?

[He takes the Rubik's Cube inside with him and sets it on his desk, and after he puts some things away, he tries it out... and fails. After the fifth time, Reki decides to take a break but leaves the cube proudly on his desk.]

I'll have to practice more, huh Aiko?

[No answer, as usual. Why does he even--Reki pulls out his book and two dozen screens fly into the air around him. It'll be another long night of coding, but he's more determined than ever to make this work.]

Then it's a happy surprise? ^^'

Also laughing forever because Reki thought it was a bomb.
