"Hello everyone. If you hadn't heard, there has been a recent attempt to introduce a 'mutant registration bill' which is just as alarming as it sounds. Enjoras and I have had some experience is spotting and protesting injustice when we see it, so we thought we'd take a moment to ( Read more... )

I cannot fucking believe you two.

Look, I'm not fucking happy about this registration nonsense either, but we don't have any details yet, and it's especially fucking irresponsible of you to make a post like this to all of the students here, who are very impressionable and easily riled up about this kind of shit. Now you've got it in their heads that the government and general public equates them with sex offenders -- they don't have the same judgment as you two are supposed to have, as adults, and there is no way in which this is helping them. By rallying up malcontent and fear in the student population in order to try and combat those sentiments as held by anti-mutant groups, before you even have the fucking facts, you two are no better than Baelheit and his concern trolling.

Shame on you. Shame on you both for acting without thinking, because the majority of the students here are children and they look up to you more than you are prepared to handle. And frankly, Courfeyrac, I'm disappointed. I thought you at least would have ( ... )

[slightly surprised] Know better? [scratches his hairline in mild confusion] Why do you think I helped organize a rally? It's because I know better than to let injustice happen when I can do something to stop it. We aren't rallying up malcontent and fear. [a little puzzled that she can think that actually] Ah, is it my English? I knew I ought to have asked Combeferre to check my speech beforehand, but really- that wasn't out intention at all. It was to let the students know that there was something they could do when their inalienable rights were violated.

No, Courfeyrac, your English was absolutely fine...

Jessica, don’t you think that a list of citizens compiled on the basis of nothing more than the existence of a mutation is morally reprehensible? Whatever the ends to the means, what we know about this registration plot is alarming enough and quite frankly the students have a right to make their voices heard above the prattle of the media. These children haven’t committed any crime and they don’t deserve - nor do they need - to be on some [waves hand impatiently] Government register.

Could we really make that much of a difference by being there?

Of course you would! You never know just who is going to be the person to tip the crowd into critical mass and effect the change everyone wants.

It just seems to me that if they want to pass it bad enough, especially with us being...what we are, they would still pass it.

Ah, but you never know until you try! A protest from an angry lawyer one summer day in Paris resulted in the disenfranchised of France overthrowing the entire feudal system. You never know.

[slightly alarmed, but hiding it well] Ah, glad to hear it. Would you, ah, need help getting there, or would you... fly?

Oh, I can fly, it will not be any trouble.

[is absolutely not at all considering the possible chaos a dragon flying through NYC would cause :'D]

Ah! Billy, yes, thank you. [This little emphasis on 'thank you' suggests that it's meant on more than one level.]
