You did the right thing, Virgil.

If you need me to talk to him, I will, but only if you call him back yourself first.

Ah, I know that teach and I think my Pops does too. See, before I came to school here though I promised him I wouldn't put on some hero costume until I graduated (at least). And, well, I sort of put my old costume back on during the attack...

He's...not exactly thrilled about that. I think I should be able to handle this though. Gotta show my pops I can take responsibility for my mistakes after all.

But thanks, it means a lot.

Well, you were on a school trip when it happened. What were you supposed to do? Run and hide and let other people get hurt?

I think most parents would be proud of their kid for wanting to protect others.

To be honest Jinx, I think it had more to do with the fact that I had my costume on than defending myself and others from harm.

He is proud of me...but he's also gonna worry...at least that's what he tells me.

Tell him that it's the first time you put the costume on in the entire time you've been here, maybe? I mean, the teachers seem pretty determined to make sure we don't do anything dumb and don't try to be heroes moreso than we really need to be.

You can also point out that we've got more subjects you can take than at a public school, we've got the best enforced anti-bullying rules in any school...there's lots of good reasons for you to be staying here.

Yeah...it has something to do with manipulating the magnetic fields of the earth or something. It's been awhile since I read up on the science of it.

Just explain this was a one time freak occurrence you never could have predicted, and if you hadn't been there people would have died.

And if that fails to pacify him, just ask if he'd prefer you to avoid all major cities, because I'm pretty sure this stuff happens all over the place. I mean, I can see him not wanting his son fighting monsters, but it's not like you were looking for trouble.

Well, like I've said, I think it was more about the fact that I was...in my costume than the fact I was defending innocents. It's silly, I know, but my Pops is just worried about me, you know?

Heh, considering how close to Chicago, Dakota is I don't think that's possible, Harry.

Well, every father worries about his kids, but I'm pretty sure he's also proud of you for what you did.

Exactly, there isn't a real way to avoid stuff like this, that's my point, though maybe promising not to wear the costume might help.

He tells me he is...he knows I do...DID a lot of good back in Dakota.

Heh, well that's the problem isn't it? I DID promise not to put it on again...at least until after I graduate. Then the monster thing happened and, well, it just seemed like a good idea at the time.
