I know it happens, but I am thankfully rarely reminded of just how fucking stupid and outdated the US political system is. As I was reading an article on Credit Card changes for US cardholders, I saw this at the very bottom as the last line of the article:

Included in the bill is an unrelated measure by Sen. Tom Coburn, R-Okla., that would allow

That's an interesting thing for the article to say... A bill allowing that has already passed... There would be no reason for anyone to put that rider on anything.

Don't know what it means but I will always remind people that the dumbest thing of all that we are exposed to is our media coverage... But we all seem to believe it every time with no question.

I'm inclined to think the article is wrong.

I.e., WTF does this rider have to do with the original bill?

Our legal system needs a makeover like I need a career. I.e., BADLY.

But a rider doesn't HAVE to have anything to do with the bill it's attached to, then it's more of an amendment to the bill
