Twitter

I can't stand Twitter. I dislike everything about the idea, particularly the part where people spam their LJ accts and my f-list with their daily inanities via their daily "Tweets." If you want to share your random inanities with us, then type out a blog post like I do when I wanna share my inanities, lazy butt. Or better yet, focus on living ( Read more... )

I have an account, but I have no intention of spamming my LJ with my updates, or really update as regularly as most people do who use the service--I certainly won't be offended if people don't read my crap there. Otherwise, I think it can have its uses.

Thank you. I've come close several times to un-friending people who do that, because I find it so annoying. It's just a matter of time until I do so, particularly with people who ONLY post twitters to their LJ acct. Not surprisingly, I never ever read people's "Tweets."

I'm sure it does--pay no attention to my ranting ;-) LOL

Hallelujah, brother!

Seriously, I really hate having to decide whether I want to keep someone on my flist and have to see those stupid posts all the time, or cut them and potentially miss some good *real* posts. I just don't get the point of Twitter - why does everyone need to know every little thing you think or do in a day? Most of it isn't that interesting.

To be fair, I can see how it could have some uses in certain ways. Unfortunately, all I've seen are completely inane, contextual-less texts with a rare gem or 2. Sooooo not worth the sifting.

I quite enjoy Twitter myself, but it's a *very* contextual thing. Putting a days worth of tweets into a single LJ post a day is like making someone listen to a tape with only your half of your daily idle chatter. Useless at best, annoying at worst.

Twitter b twitter. If you can get gnosis out of a fortune cookie, it's a good thing. If you'd like to put gnosis in a fortune cookie, also good practice.

Small packages. Instant delivery. Slide.

An lj full of them? Bah. Lj is where I process. Some people process on twitter. I guess it just matters where you're compression factor is. Where you're finished product is...or where you want to shove it when it's done. Method of delivery vs. method of manufacture. who's to say...

But drivel b drivel. Sifting for the good urls, or the moments when you see people for who they are when they're pissed, or drunk, or sad....at those times...twitter is just early warning...nothing else.
