I quit television two months ago and haven't missed it at all. Granted, I still do watch some shows via DVD or Netflix Watch Instantly, but those are only the shows I *really* like, and I get them on my time schedule and without commercials, which is infinitely better. Much more like movies that way.
The single best thing has been the significant drop in my dealings with Consumerism. It's quite refreshing.
I do the same thing. Anything I want to watch is available for free and commercial-less on the 'net within a few hours of airing. And there's only a small list of shows I find worth watching. I haven't even owned a TV in about 3 years.
