The most common theme of all the World's Religions

Having taken waaaaay too many classes on Comparative World Religions, I feel rather confident in saying the single most common theme found in every single religion in the entire World can be summed up in a single word:

"LOVE"

People could easily point out to numerous places in the OT where God kills innocent people (and animals?) and commands the Jews to do the same. It refers to Jews not killing other Jews, but enemies of the Jews are fair game.Are we talking about the Jews or the Christians here? Because "The Old Testament" is, by its very definition, a Christian compilation of ancient Jewish books. Sure, the Jews' sacred scriptures are contained within "The OT", but each separate religion--Judaism & Christianity--have their own hierarchy of religious priorities. My point is that in all religions there are some absolute CORE beliefs & practices, and then we progressively expand out from this core. I think anything that deviates from these core "Truths" should be seriously re-examined. In the Christian Tradition, they worship JESUS, and he had a total of 2 Commandments, both revolving around "Love" (as I explain in the link to my previous post, above). The Jews have around 365 Commandments, and none of them (to my knowledge) have anything positive to say ( ... )
