Yup, on all counts.

Recently, I've been doing yoga four times a week in the mornings. I used to think I couldn't get up earlier than I had to otherwise, just for that, but it never worked for me to do it at night or after work or anything. So I just forced myself to start doing it in the mornings, and it actually worked out really well, because the energy from that totally makes up for having to get up earlier. I've been doing it like this for maybe two months now, and really enjoying it.

I noticed that I was actually missing it this week, when I've had to suspend my practice due to the pain of my freshly tattooed arm. That's definitely a good sign.

Exercising makes the rest of my day SO MUCH BETTER. Why only enjoy that benefit AFTER MY DAY IS OVER??? I've become a big fan of doing it in the morning, not for any silly "morning chi is better" so much as "the effects last the whole rest of the day". Being naturally lazy, I find it best to maximize this first thing in the morning.

I do it after my day is "over" because I already wake up early in the morning to perform other practices that I find greatly augment my well-being that are not physical exercise (though they do include comprehensive stretching). Another benefit to doing my physical practice at the "end" of my day, upon getting home from work, is that it sets a clear demarcation between my work life and my personal life, allowing me to more easily set aside stresses and concerns from the office.

You have to do what works for you, and I did my physical practices in the morning for a long time, but it's better to have a physical practice at any time of day than no physical practice at all.

So, you're already performing "something" that makes your day better. Excellent!

Good point. I definitely use a bit of exercise at night to separate myself from a particularly invasive & shitty day.

I agree on all points.
