Why do you blog?

I just saw that CNN has an article about how "Your blog can be group therapy". Interesting points that aren't too surprising, honestly.

I first started blogging because I needed something more personal, more me, more mine than Zeelist. Unless you live in a big metropolis, people who can in any way relate to my Magickal & Mystical Experiences, ( Read more... )

I greatly enjoy writing, experimenting with sensory details and word arrangement. I have been transcribing visions for as long as I can remember (whether through words, sketches or behavior). There are notebooks filled of pieces that hardly anyone besides myself and my guides see. Sharing my writing has always been difficult since I felt as if I was pushing my words onto people who didn't have much of an interest or understanding. Blogging allows the people who are interested to read, and the ones uninterested to pass by without any possible awkwardness. Also, I like feedback. I do honestly want to know if I am striking a chord with people, giving them a wonderful word painting or triggered physiologic or emotional reactions. Throwing my thoughts out there is also a good for catching the attention of kindred spirits. Why save the thoughts all for myself if someone else can possibly find meaning as deep as I found in it? Synchronicities are a pleasant surprise as well.

i don't blog much unless i need to make a declaration or commemorate an event or a person, but it's fun to compare memes, and i adore making comments on other people's posts.

Much like you, I blog to get the rampant, incessant thoughts outta my head and on the ground...physically in a space in front of me. It's a form of internal processing made external. Sometimes the act of just talking about an idea with myself can enlighten me to ideas, solutions, pitfalls, set backs and all other aspects. I don't get as stuck on one point of view.

I do miss the rollicking days of the Zee. Irreality just doesn't have the same flavor, I'm afraid. Ah well - maybe I grew up.

Blogging too, helps me remember the passage of time...events that I find significant. It has served as a magical journal of sorts, but has been just as much about personal growth as anything.

It also gives those who are far away from me a chance to stay connected to my world.
