There's another way of doing the rune pairings. Instead of taking them two at a time, you take the first and last (Fehu and Othel), then the second and second-to-last (Uruz and Daeg), etc. It also yields some interesting insights...

thanks! I like that. I often play around with things like that but i'm not sure i'd have thought of that one.

do you have any favorite runic sites?

I really don't. I've been wracking my brain on this, but I just never found any of the sites all that useful when it came to the Runes. I've gone mainly by Helrunar (by Fries) and Futhark: A Handbook of Runic Magic (by Edred Thorsson) for resources, and I've relied more on my own work and insights in general. Futhark was sort of an interesting read, as Thorsson basically lays the Runic cloth over a High Magic framework; that was the book that taught me the pairings mentioned above.

Indeed.

Despite my differences with him, I definitely recommend his work on the runes, he knows what he's talking about.
