AT THE XAVIER INSTITUTE:The school is still buzzing from the participation of some of its students in the thwarting of the giant monster that almost attacked Manhattan on Friday; especially in light of the media fallout (see below), Professor Xavier gives an assembly in which he commends the students involved for their bravery, apologizes that they ( Read more... )

The seventh week of Band is remarkably painless (for Band), whether due to random alignment of the planets or the fact that your teacher is just very glad to have Halloween behind him. He doesn't go out of his way to say so, mind you, knowing that most of the kids loved it, but he's pretty clearly feeling relieved about something.

Assignments take a sudden sharp turn for the classical; let it be said only that Vivaldi's "Gloria" sounds quite nice even minus the vocals and plus any number of historically inappropriate additional instruments.

Interest check for a new band log? Anyone? (~._.)~

This week's average daily puns-per-class: 87

***After last week's comedically disastrous viewing of The Nightmare Before Christmas, this week's mentor group meeting is back to normal with a new musical film that doesn't involve ghosts or vampires in any way shape or form. Brook still insists that TNBC was a lovely film and he's glad he kinda sorta ended up watching most of it, although it is difficult to tell whether he genuinely believes this ( ... )

I totally would be up for a band log. And Rin will keep trying her hand at different instruments, still not sure what to stick with. Any help there would be greatly appreciated.

Brook is probably not especially helpful when it comes to decisions, since his approach is still letting people try whatever they want as many times as they want. You'll know ~*your instrument*~ when you find it, or maybe you'll just keep playing around with everything. As long as you're having fun! |3

We've been planning one for quite a while - everyone has just been on hiatus/slow for the past few weeks, so it never happened.

But yes, it totally needs to happen, complete with people who know the movie backwards and forwards singing the songs and quoting it and everyone trying to keep Brook from screaming in terror at the bits that aren't really scary.

He'll never survive Oogie Boogie's song. X3

Are you kidding? He'll never survive the opening number. 8D

But yeah, we should arrange for backdated lulz now that I think everyone's back and things are less crazy. I'm putting up the band log later today and then we'll see. ~(._.)~

It's okay, Starr was terrified of the movie when she was...6...so she kinda understands.

And sure, Band Log, why not. I didn't make the last one D:

SOMEONE WHO GETS IT ;~;

yes Brook doesn't take offense at any possible implication that he has all the bravery and fortitude of a six year old girl

Lucy brings a lot of enthusiasm to the classical subject, more because Brook's inspired her than any serious interest, and while she's only average in her musical skills, she does have a lot of knowledge of composers and such that she is happy to contribute.

She also provides suitably amusing reactions to the endless puns.

I myself would be fine with a log.
