Macy groaned as she struggled with the costume in her hand.
"Now come on, Rosalyn. Don't you want to go trick-or-treating tonight? Be a good girl for Mommy and let me put on your costume," whined Macy as she stood in front of her three month old daughter. Rosalyn was Macy and Nick's first born child and tonight was her very first Halloween. Macy had bought her a Tinker Bell costume, deciding that she would be Wendy and Nick would be Peter Pan, but Rosalyn seemed to be resisting the actual placing of her costume.
"And how are my two favorite ladies in the world," asked Nick as he came into the room. He was already dressed in his Peter Pan outfit while Macy had yet to put on her Wendy costume. Macy sighed and rolled her eyes as she picked up Rosalyn, placing the costume in her other hand.
"How about you try and get your daughter into her costume," she asked as she placed Rosalyn into Nick's arms and the costume down on the table near the door. With that, she walked out of the room, determined to cool off as she put on her costume.
Nick chuckled at his fiancé’s antics before looking down at his daughter. Despite being born at the wrong time, Nick and Macy did not regret her existence at all.
"Alright, come on baby," said Nick as he put her down on the table next to her costume, "Let's get this costume on." Rosalyn, however, seemed to have other ideas in mind as she crossed her arms in a very Macy like manner and frowned, determined not to make this easy for her father. Nick sighed.
"Come on, Rosie," said Nick, "If you do, Daddy will watch Barney with you tomorrow." Nick smiled and began tickling her, causing Rosalyn to shift slightly. Clearly she was getting to be very smart like her father and slightly understanding the proposition her father seemed to be making, her frown began to lessen in intensity before finally uncrossing her arms long enough for Nick to quickly grab the costume and place it on her tiny body.
"There we go," said Nick as he sighed in relief. Just as he'd finished, Macy walked in, her hair curled and blue dress on.
"You got her ready," exclaimed Macy in surprise as she saw her daughter dressed in the green fairy outfit. Nick smirked before picking Rosalyn up and adjusting her onto his waist.
"But of course, dear, this is me we're talking about," he said in reply. Macy only rolled her eyes as Nick leaned in for a kiss the second he got closer to her. Relinquishing to her fiancé, she allowed herself to be kissed softly before pulling back.
"Alright, then let's go. Ready for trick or treating," asked Macy as she looked down as their daughter giggled in reply, clearly amused at her parents. Nick and Macy laughed as they walked down the stairs. It was sure to be a momentous Halloween
