Disneylaaaaaaand! One month to the day, unspokenlonging, dcpesses and I went back to Disneyland.

As predicted, the crowds weren't bad at all due to the horrible weather predictions. The parks weren't dead, but it wasn't the ususal Saturday-busy either.

It kinda drizzled off-and-on all day, but only enough that we barely noticed it. It wasn't until around 3:30 in the afternoon when we came out of the Animation Building that it really opened up and poured, and even that only lasted 10 minutes or so. And it left a really pretty, bright rainbow! The dark skies made for really fun picture-taking, too. The cold was a bit much, though. After that downpour I had on: a long-sleeved t-shirt, a hooded sweatshirt, my jacket, and a rain jacket over all that and gloves on my hands. And I was still cold.

We pretty much got on everything with minimal wait. I think the longest we waited was maybe 10 minutes for the Matterhorn and Screamin'. I tell ya, though, it was COLD. Especially on Screamin'. It's flippin' freezing when you get shot off at 60 mph on that thing when it's not even 50 degrees out. My face was numb by the time we got back to the station.

I was so glad to see the Mansion back open! No real changes visible yet - I would assume they're going to start all the changes on the same day, or close to it. Only catch was that the piano player ghost in the attic was playing silently. :P Although as I understand it, the HM narration and some other audio was shut off entirely on Friday, so at least we got something! ;)

On Indy, if you have to sit and wait at that last Indy before the station, watch him. He kinda shakes like he's having a seizure - or at least he did yesterday. :P

Finally saw Aladdin again. YAY! It'd been months! OMG, LOVED the Genie. It wasn't one I'd seen before, but he was HILARIOUS! "Snap girl! You di'int!" was delievered SO perfectly! ;) "Wait! Where are you going! We're gonna play Twister! Left hand blue! Right hand *looks* ... blue!" Lots of jokes that were new to me! And at one point he went down the Family Guy comedy route - take a joke and drag it on soooooooo long that you're laughing at the fact that he just keeps going. Love! :P The Aladdin was okay - I didn't really like his singing voice, but he did a great job keeping the spirit of the animated Aladdin. He delivered the line "don't you trust me?" much more sincerely than any of the others have, much like it was in the movie. Jasmine.... arg. Yeah. She was SO WHINY. She kept hitching her breath and whining and she jsut sounded like a spoiled brat the whole time. I think she was trying to be dramatic, but took it way too far and missed Jasmine entirely. Jasmine is a strong, defiant woman. This one was just snotty. She started singing "To Be Free" in SUCH a gorgeous singing voice, though... and then promptly killed it by getting too melodramatic again. *headdesk* If she'd just sing it straight... The carpet was back, though! I'd heard so many stories of it being gone in recent months that I was surprised it was there. Oh, and the show itself has changed very slightly. They cut out one line - as Aladdin sneaks into the cavem he sings bits of One Jump Ahead, but they cut out the part where he sings the line "one skip ahead of my doom" and instead jumped right to the big reveal. Also, Jasmine actually has a wedding dress in the finale now. Yay! ...yeah, I really have seen that show way too much. 48 times now. We had a great seat! Front and center, mezzanine. I finally got a chance to get photos of that one with my Rebel.

Can we please draw something else next time I go to the Animation Academy? It's always Pooh whenever I go! As much as I love paking "poo" jokes (dcpesses, you should post your "Pooh" masterpiece) I wanna draw something else. :P

We also spent a long time just hanging out on the balcony of the Gallery, watching the crowds. It was really odd to see New Orleans Square so deserted on a Saturday afternoon. It was really relaxing, though, just hanging out there on the balcony and watching the world go by. We were there for at least half an hour, easy. If it weren't so freakin' cold, I could have taken a nap there.

Aladdin was out taking pictures in Adventureland, though (his storytelling got cancelled due to rain) so we stopped for a group photo with all of us decked out in our raingear. :P

We actually ended up heading out about 6. We figured Remember would be cancelled due to the wind, and it was just too chilly. While I would have loved to see Fantasmic, I think I would have frozen to death sitting there waiting for it. And I was STARVING - I had a mocha and a croissant first thing in the morning, but wouldn't let myself buy any food after that. It's too damned expensive.

It was a fun day, but my heart really wasn't in it this time. Too much stress, too many other things going on that are occupying my mind. And I was damn cold.

Pics are all up! The majority of them are from Aladdin, but there's a few others in there, too. http://xfkirsten.smugmug.com/gallery/1268180 WARNING: Scary giant chicken photo included.
