Had someone told her just a week ago that she'd fall in love with a vampire, she'd have checked them in at the mental ward of the hospital. Now though, well. Maybe she's the one who should be locked away. She's still not quite sure about that.
What she is sure about is the way she feels in Damon's presence. He is charming and knows just the right thing to say and he's intelligent and hot. His hair is amazing, especially beneath her fingertips, and his smile is crooked and makes her melt.
But... then, he's a vampire. The thought of being with a vampire is... sort of hot, but in a teen-nostalgia kind of way that she doesn't quite want to admit to. It's also odd. Unnatural. And all kinds of insane. Mostly it's insane.
Supernatural creatures do not exist. She has been sure of that statement for all of her life. So, how is it possible that Damon exists? His fangs gleam when he turns, and the blood he wipes from his face is always bright red, crimson red, and not his.
On the subject of blood, she has an odd feeling that it is blood supplied by the hospital that ends up on his lips. Lately the blood bags had been running out rather quickly. A look through the inventory revealed nothing, but not all the blood they had ordered was called for. But how would he get it? Who would give it to him?
It worries her. She should run. Something in her tells her that maybe at some point she tried to run, but then... there was something holding her from leaving. She was afraid of this man, this charming, beautiful man, and his pointy teeth and his strength, but she couldn't, can’t, pull away. What the hell was wrong with her?
If anyone else made her feel this way, she would leave. She would run like hell, and then she'd contact someone if she feared harm, or if she thought he was a danger to anyone else.
But with Damon, she simply feels... peace. Somehow. Mixed in with all the fear. When the fear surfaces, somehow, every time, a few words from Damon and looking into his eyes calms her and tells her it will be all right.
And maybe it's more than that. Maybe she's developing stronger feelings, as this weird fascination with him continues and is encouraged by him. She can't quite tell. Each time she starts to think about it, it leaves her mind. Gone. Until the next time her thoughts return to the topic, and she goes through it all again and then forgets.
She doesn't know what it is about Damon. She really has no clue. His existence and how she feels with him... it's all a confusing blur of desire/fear. What it comes down to is one thing:
He's very... compelling.
