Hmm. It really says something about the progression/regression of skillsets in countries when I'm getting more competent and useful help from a call support person in India then a local Australian company. It used to be the other way around.

I really really wish it wasn't so, because I don't subscribe to the "because they have an accent they're stupid" line of thinking, but so far I've yet to have your experience, and its lived up to the stereotype.

I normally loathe having to deal with indian call centres; I'm with you on that.

The last few times I've had to deal with them though (mostly Three support) they've had a really good grasp of English and have actually been really useful, when on the contrast having to deal with some Australians I've had nothing but sheer incompetence. It does seem to be getting better, but maybe mine are isolated experiences.
