I am such a sucker for Mulder telling Samantha stories--it just captures so much about them, and...gives back what canon doesn't really have, which is the idea of Samantha as a person. An awesome person. Sigh.

Scully's desperation to avoid calling him crazy also works really well. *g*

Aw, this was so sweet! I love everything about it. The banter, the werewolf howl. I'm so fond of Mulder and Samantha as children. You give her more of a personality than the show did and I'm very glad. It's a sweet memory.

“When you were…” He couldn’t quit bring himself to say “dying.” “When you were, I mean…”

She looked at him in such a way that he knew she understood what he meant.

I adore this. Their unspoken communication is one of my favorite aspects of their relationship. And it adds a little twist of sadness, which I'm also a fan of. :)
