So it's been a while since my last post (and people have come and gone from my flist, what?).

Remember I was going to write an epic post about the Feb 10th raid? Well, I never managed to get that finished due to all the shit I was trying to include in there. Then Mar 15th happened and I still didn't get anything done - partly because I've been "Read more... )

But, hey, your posts are always worth the wait. Especially: "It's equating Scientology with brainwashing and what looks like a pile of steaming shit." That he falls just short of threatening you later in his reply, makes me just think, "Yes? And?"

Uh, you have me worried for you now. Lawyers? Recent events?

Thanks Foxy, you say the nicest things. Well, we both know that's not true, but they're always amusing ;)

Well one of the recent events is to do with that stuff on flickr. In harassment cases you're always supposed to document everything as thoroughly as possible. So I'm thinking I should make sure the legal guys know about this just in case anything were to come of it.

I'm not too scared, as Liberty did a terrific job of defending Bonnie Woods and getting an apology out of Scientology. Britain also has really nasty libel laws now, so picketing, leaflets and anything that can be traced back to Scientology would be a massive liability for them.

Hey, Gringo, I can either be nice or funny. You want both, Conzuela, you pay fo' both!

Apart from the miniscule chance that the exchange on flickr may be deleted, I'm sure you can save it (and any other "conversations" you've had) and keep it. You've probably already done that, though. On a vaguely serious note, there were warnings of Church Members floating around here for a few days after March 10th, so I dread to think who may be about in London. As you and I know, and if you'll excuse the irony, it's very anonymous, is Central London.

The mind boggles as to what the could do to ruin your life. I mean, you're so open about your misdemeanors and perversities, that I don't think there's anything left. Except that thing with the alien corpse. xxx

If they do decide to try and take it to the courts just make it all very public and very messy.

I've been using Pidgin quite a fair bit these days from spending half my life on various Linux boxes. Seems pretty good, but I've gotten spoilt by Adium over the past few years.

Oh definitely. The Sean Carasov story is starting to be picked up in a couple of places. The British media have also been testing the waters with Scientology stories recently. Hell, the Guardian have run two stories about Rick-Rolling and tying it to Scientology and the News of the World (sadly, the biggest selling English language paper) had a "Tom Cruise and his religion are crazy" story.

That, coupled with the stuff about Liberty and libel in my response to Foxy (above), means I don't think Scientology can afford to try Fair Game bullshit over here.

Aye, I think most of the media has actually approached the story fairly well without getting too involved in the usual tabloid bump of "Scientology ate my children".

I'm surprised they've gotten away with operating a well known policy of aggression for so long, you'd think at least one government in these days of everyones a terrorist until proven otherwise would be more concerned.
