This is for Rhoda's benefit because I think I broke her brain when I admitted that I had never, ever seen The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King.
Bolded are the movies I've seen
Italic titles are movies on my to-watch list

SHIELD YOUR EYES, RHODA: I have never seen The NeverEnding Story, any of the Alien movies, A Christmas Story, and so many other "life changing" movies that a lot of people in my age bracket seem to think are defining movies of our generation. womp womp
ETA: OH! I almost forgot my biggest sin of all: I've only see parts of Labyrinth. *cackles maniacally*

Honestly, there are many gaps in my viewing history as well. That's one reason I keep doing marathons, in October and for other things--to fill those gaps. I didn't watch Labyrinth or Goonies until college, and the latter left me unimpressed. I'm . . . hesitant to admit that in certain circles, heh.
I have a funny story about Labyrinth though: my college roommate, before we were rooming together, had a HUGE TV and a stack of VHS tapes to rival Blockbuster, and earned her claim to fame by writing the following on the whiteboard outside her door: "Labyrinth showings at: 12, 2, 4, 6, and 8." Just kept it going on a loop all day long. It was awesome. That's how I first saw it.

I've never Goonies either. I get being underwhelmed by certain movies that get hyped up. Casablanca was extremely underwhelming for me once I finally got around to seeing it. I feel like I'd have to be in my grandparents' generation to fully appreciate its value and meaning at the time it came out.
But, yeah, I have tons of gaps that raise eyebrows. CLEARLY based on your response to LotR. That's pretty awesome about your (future) roommate re: Labyrinth. Sometimes it plays on Showtime; so I'll get to it eventually. And, hey, I was in my 20's when I first saw The Princess Bride.

YOU ALL NEED TO ACCEPT BLANCHE DUBOIS AS YOUR LORD AND SAVIOR!
Agree with you on DOUBLE INDEMNITY, RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK (I hate TEMPLE OF DOOM, and THE LAST CRUSADE is my favorite), CASABLANCA, and CABARET. I like SOUND OF MUSIC up until Maria and von Trapp get married, then it loses it for me.
My parents own LAWRENCE OF ARABIA and for some reason the two VHS tapes always turned me off as a kid. They also have BLADE RUNNER but I'm not sure what cut it is.
BEN-HUR: I mean come on, no one's sat down and watched this all the way through, have they?
I did for middle school (I think?) as required viewing but I 1) can't remember why it was required when I attended public school and 2) I don't remember anything from the film other than the chariot race and that there were lepers living in a cave at one point.
