A Word on Censorship

Readers, listen up! There's going to be at least one book that offends you. As a reader, you have the right to shut that book. You have the right to tell others what you thought of the book. Ugh--that article made me sick to my stomach. Of course the nice thing about both the Internet and Banned Book Week, is that idiots like him get called out fairly quickly, and without any censorship of any kind from the commentors. It's kind of beautiful, really.

I really, really don't have a problem with someone saying they disliked a book because of such-and-such. What gets me is when people make assumptions about a book they see. That gets me going to no end. The entire writing community had a right to call out Mr. Scroggins, 'cause it's obvious he never read Speak if he equates rape as "soft-core pornography."
