Right. I'm guessing a lot has happened since I and a handful of others were in the tunnels. Something about a time and space paradox. Look, I'm not too clear on the details, so if any of the staff would care to elaborate it would be appreciated. Thanks.

Garrus, I'm fine, just-- hungry. [And bone-tired.]Sollux, report please. Hope you're here ( Read more... )

Would you mind filling me in on Sollux's where-abouts if you hear anything before I do?

Will do, Chloe. How are you holding up?

I'm fine. [She would probably admit to little else, no matter the situation, but with Shepard Chloe will expand upon her answer.]

I slept forever--probably needed it. There's food in the kitchen if you're hungry. [Chloe certainly had been.] Derek made a late breakfast, and there is quite a bit left if you care for any.

How are you doing?

Glad to hear you're doing fine. I'm starving, actually, but I think my friend has got that covered. Thanks for asking.

Stay safe, alright?

Shepard--!

[If she says she's fine, then she's fine. And Shepard -- can't hide that unspoken addition from him.]

Where are you? I can bring you something if you need it.

[Baww, Garrus. It's good to hear his voice again.]

Kicking my boots off in my cell. If you don't mind being the errand boy, I'd be grateful for a bite to eat.

[And yours too, Shepard.]

You're going to have to be more specific than that. I'm not all that clear on human rations yet.

As long as you don't pick up anything with 'arsenic' on the label, I trust you to be the judge of what won't kill me. Not in a position to be picky about what I put in my mouth.

[Yep. She just said that. Too exhausted to realize or care.]

Take your time.

If you don't mind waffles, I can drop some off.

It's as if I found a hidden cache of nannies down in those tunnels. Only if you've got nothing better to do, Derek.

[There's a slightly surprised chuckle at that.]

Aside from finishing up in the kitchen and sleeping for a year, I really don't.

What's your room number? I'll swing by on my way back to mine to hand em off.

If you insist.

[The Commander does like her waffles.]

2115 is my room number. Temporary until I move base into the guard towers.

*He's still kind of flustered, but fortuantely he got the shock of them being back and alive over in his reply to Chloe.*

I'm here, I'm fine. What did I miss?

[There's internalized relief.]

Nothing too exciting. After. . . we lost you, Nieta led us out to a couple trapdoors. When we got the second one, time and space stopped screwing with the passage. And us.

Glad you got back to the normal passageways safely. Chloe filled me in on some things.

I'll take it you don't need another debriefing, then?

There is little else that can be said. Time and space are relative measures. In that place, there is nothing which they might measure against.

You were warned not to trespass beyond locked doors.

[At this point, Shepard has learned the futility of arguing what does and does not fall under justified action with Isabel. She'll pick her battles.]

That explains why it's weeks after the day we tunneled under, but not why it's like that in the first place, or how. Can I ask, or is that classified?

You may ask, if only so that I might better understand the question.

You will forgive me, but I am not sure what it is that you wish to know.

[This is going to go downhill or nowhere, she thinks. It's a matter of when.]

I won't ask [yet] why the Keep was built on top of these particular tunnels. I am interested in knowing if Holloway has something to do with it. Creator of worlds, if I'm remembering the tablet right. Correct me if I'm wrong about that.
