I'm working Dec 22-25. Apparently, people are still sick during Christmas. WHAT THE HELL.

This means I'm going to miss Christmas Eve, the time when my family celebrates Christmas. I am SO. SADFACE. Which is why I got all verklempt at Tim Minchin's Christmas song, White Wine in the Sun.

I'm trying. I just love the Christmas Even/Noche Buena so much. The foods & the desserts & the alcohol & the games (AALLLLLL THE GAAAAAAAAAMES) until midnight then the presents & presents AND MOAR PRESENTS then slowly passing out with everyone in the living room just before dawn.

The suxors! Am hoping that, as sometimes happens when you're in an awkward place during a festive time, y'all get some down time to relax. I was on a plane over the Atlantic when the century changed, instead of at a party, and the flight attendants poured champagne and celebrated with the passengers. Grab a little joy where you can, yeah?

And also? The fact that you're there is going to help someone else who is having an even crappier Christmas feel a bit better. *hugs*

Every shift working the Christmas Eve/Christmas Day/Boxing Day shifts is holding a potluck. And the babies get their pictures with Santa & stuff. And, yes, we help the little ones & their families feel better for the holidays. But Christmas with the famdamily is the bestest and I HAS A SAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD.
