I'm at the end of chapter two and wow, wow, wow where this is all headed. It's a gritty, realistic world that sounds plausible (real terminology, real characters, real canon stick-to-it-ness) with the Legacy on Pyro from comics. I'm in over my head and loving it. I really wish I could write as good as you do, girl, and hope somehow I'll ever get one of the big doozies done written half as good as this. Awesome, awesome, awesome. Wish I had more time to read now, rather than later. Wow.
You, girl, are the queen of genius. I'm in awe. And once my gob is in working order again in a few days, maybe I'll be able to write an articulate review!
Thank you very much to both your comments! :D I do enjoy weaving comics canon into movieverse in a way that's not quite the same. I also love, love, LOVE world-building especially when the story's more like urban fantasy/comics where there's just thismuch insanity in the "real" world.
I'm still working on writing well-- I think it's a constant learning process & I've been seriously at it since I was in high school mumblemumblemumble years ago. Just keep writing, posting, working con-crit into your writing, grabbing betas that look at more than spelling/grammar (although those are AWESOME, too), writing, writing and MOAR writing.
I don’t know if USA news channels have some kind of code regarding the level of brutality / violence et cetera they decide to broadcast -- There are levels of violence the news won't air and/or black out but from an outsider's perspective, USA broadcasting is more concerned with censoring sexuality than violence. I can see these tamer clips showing on prime time news maybe when the kids are in bed.
Your ramble! THANK YOU! *smishes* One of my goals is to recruit people to the Dark Side entertain people who "aren't into that." I do a little happy dance every time someone says, "I don't usually read/like [insert Character/Title/Fandom] but I loved this story/you made me like him/her/it." So thank you, thank you, thank you for giving this a chance once again!
ZOMG so jealous of your time with awesome art & writing gurus. It explains so much about your approach with the Spartacus web comics.
