Soon as I saw this was up, I literally threw the book I was about to get started in on for school to the other end of the bed and hunkered down with this.

I can't say the word "excellent" enough times to truly describe this. The grit, the clarity, the intensity, the realism....guh. Love it! To be honest, this is everything I wish my 'Thin Blue Line' stories could be.

Sitting on pins and needles waiting for the next part!

(Oh, and on a slightly related PS: I will get that criminological theory answer to you, re: that post where you were exploring why the Thieves and Assassins' Guilds specialized the way they did. Its just that grad school is doing a good job of eating my brains right now.)

Heee! Thank you SO much for saying all of that. I'm so pleased that you enjoyed it because, God help me, despite the sweat and headdesking, writing this was one of the funnest experiences I've had in ficcing.

I think I'll post chapters once a week to cut down on the flist spamming but all 8 chapters are finished so there should be no delay.

No worries about the criminological theory answer. I won't need it until the sequel anyway. Study, study, study! I'm quite jealous that you're in grad school.

Honestly? Don't be. My stress levels consistently hover somewhere between 7 and 10 (with midterms and paper deadlines cranking it up to 11) and I'm compensated as if I'm working a job that has a stress level of 3 on a bad day. Of course, this makes it sound like I hate it, which I definitely don't. It's a very complicated, very "love/hate" kind of relationship I have with grad school. It's hard to explain.

¡Muchas gracias! I have to admit, this story is my very favourite right now. I feel like I've used everything I've learned about writing so far & am ridiculously pleased with myself because of it. I'm so glad you're enjoying & YAY to your ego-boosting feedback. :DDD
