Y'know, I never took notice but yes, I do tend to write heroes. I think the only strict villain I'm written is Draco Malfoy and even then, I didn't really treat him like a villain. More like someone pretty far in the dark grey side, not just the dark side. ;)
I think I tend to be interested in people who try really hard to be heroic. I like seeing their flaws and obstacles; I like it when they don't overcome those flaws/obstacles even even when they should in order to be a "real" hero. I like that conflict and the struggle. Because doing good isn't easy but it isn't impossible either.
I guess that means I find writing villains too easy. *L*I think if ever I were to write a villain as a main character, I'd approach it from the point of view where THEY don't think of themselves as bad guys. They think their actions are heroic. And then I'd like to see what happens if they run across irrefutable evidence that they aren't.
