It's a line from a children's picture book called "Rain Makes Applesauce." The text is complete nonsense and it's supposed to be, that's part of the fun. & the illustrations are beautiful with so much depth of personality.

It's also partially inspired by the ohsovery angsty book that I loved as a teenager, Wind Blows Backwards. That book's title is a line from "Rain Makes Applesauce" & refers to the fact that the main characters' present day lives are affected by their childhood & their parents' decisions.

I drew the same parallels here: Stars = bright, pretty, sparkly, something that makes the darkness of night a little lovelier, something that gives direction if you're lost. Lemon Juice = tart/sour, usually not very nice tasting by itself but at the same, brightly coloured, evokes springtime, very lovely aesthetically. The fact that it comes from a children's book is significant as well as how the book's story means nothing & is supposed to mean nothing.

I may over-think my titles sometimes. ;)

Do you see us complaining? No, seriously this rocks and I love the cover of Rain makes Applesauce (think I'll grab it one of this days), and the processus (processuses?) of creation are one of my many interests.

Processes. Pronounced PRO-sess-sees;)

It's honestly one of the most beautifully composed illustrations. it takes talent to make things look that random.

You are under no obligation at all to write long reviews! That energy can be put to better use, say, writing or drawing? ;)

Thanks ever so as always for reading.

AWWWW! Although my first reaction is GEEZ OLLIE, getting Chloe knocked up while still in love with Lois? Not cool. But totally something he would do, and I love that Lois knows her awesome can't be denied. And her explanation of why she's friends with Ollie and together with Clark. Wonderful ficlet! :D

Thing that I love about SV!Ollie-- and I don't know if this is Hartley's input, happy mistake or on purpose-- is that they're showing how hard it is for Ollie to get over Lois. Lois ended it, she closed the book so it can be argued that she has her closure. Also, she had a lot of support form Clark. OTOH, Ollie was kind of left hanging. From what I understand guys have a hard time getting over exes, especially when they weren't the ones who did the breaking up, the girl's moved on faster than they have, they're USUALLY the ones who break it, they're used to constant fawning women, or if they don't have a very good support system. And Ollie has all of the above. ;)

So no, he's trying to get over Lois because he knows that's good for everyone but he's not quite there yet. His method for doing so isn't the best *cough* but then neither is Chloe's. And she's a WHOLE other life-long PTSD case to be explored in this series.

Cheers! and thank you muchly!
