It's that time again

Mar 01, 2007 21:17

I've had a breakthrough with the summers_fling assignment after weeks to half-hearted keyboard tapping. Nonplussed by this turn of events, I checked the calendar-- sure enough I've got a midterm and a concept map due in 2 weeks. Nothing like deadlines to make Writer!Muse hop to it.

Of course, as soon as that particular dam broke, so did the Elemental block. ( Read more... )

character: jean grey, character: scott summers, writing: excerpts & deleted scenes, series: elemental, movie: x-men, fanfic: elemental

Thankies. Scott crushing is so sweetly dorky, it's a tonne of fun to write.

You icon always reminds me that I have to ask whether there's a First Class TPB out yet/

So far, I think there have been 6 issues of a projected 8 book series. I don't know if they're planning to publish them all in one big trade, or break it up into 4s.

I've always loved the truck part, it's really amusing.:)

It's it just? I like to throw it up there for anyone who says Cyclops doesn't have a sense of humour. He does! It's just drier than classical violinists watching the Scott Stapp-Kid Rock sex video in the middle of the Sahara.

::flail!:: Oh, SCOTT. Oh, JEAN.

the kind of up-do that women created with a pencil, a twist of a wrist and a pact with the devil because nothing else could explain how a single pencil could hold up masses of hair like that.

You know, that's awesome. Pencils won't hold my hair (too thick), I'm always jealous of women who can do that. ;)

And Scott, being all fluttery and infatuated and high-schoolish. It's so damn cute. I've got warm fuzzies!

Fuzzies! Like penguins in an ack-rarium!

I do it incorrectly and it only holds for about 5 minutes anyway. *pouts*

::sigh:: LJ, fix your database so you stop eating my comments. It was full of squeeing and arm-waving over Lian!penguins and a bit of indecision over whether I should use my Lian!icon or my Mumble!icon. Also, there was a funny story about the pencil in the hair thing. Wherein I stabbed myself in the back of the head and then the pencil fell out anyway and everyone stared at me like I was crazy and then my friend handed me an elastic.

Dude, that was supposed to be a comment to your comment, not to the post. WTF LJ?

Witness the headdesking.

Also, can I say that I ADORE you, again? Cause I do. And I love your Summers brothers like WHOA. ::draws sparkly hearts around the dysfunctional boys:: I love that Scott is hyper-aware of birthdays and anniversaries because of how excited his brothers get, and that he knows ice cream cake won't quite cut it. Although *I* would love ice cream cake and an arcade trip, myself. ;)

The base of Scott's throat buzzed, discomfort at the lack of discomfort he felt every time Warren said something snide about his family.

And that? Is so damn true. Because Warren is family to Scott and so he's got permission to talk about Scott's family, but Scott thinks he shouldn't like it because no one's allowed to talk about your family but you, but it's Warren so it's okay but he thinks it shouldn't be.

And that's... more than I think I meant to say, which was originally some form of "ZOMG SQUEEEEEEEE!!! WARREN AND SCOTT!! ::sparkly

The Lian!icon is always welcome because I think I might be falling in love with him now. Did I mention one of my fanfic kinks are single dads who try really hard but sometimes never quite get it right and whoa did I ever throw a fit when I figured out I couldn't include baby!Cable into Elemental.

Warren is family to Scott and so he's got permission to talk about Scott's family, but Scott thinks he shouldn't like it because no one's allowed to talk about your family but you, but it's Warren so it's okay but he thinks it shouldn't be.
---This is Warren's position all over. Not quite family but not quite NOT family and some people hate it, some people love it, some people couldn't give a damn as long as he keeps the shirt off he helps out with money, manpower or anything else.

I have this kink for really screwed up father-son dynamics, particularly if it's a substitute father figure (ala Bruce and Dick and ZOMG Roy and Ollie TOTALLY fit that bill, too). And, yeah, the single dad thing? KILLS ME DEAD. The dad thing period--I have a WICKED soft spot for dads who love their kids. And Roy LOVES Lian and it may be the biggest reason I'm obsessed. =P I am so stuck in that really giddy squeeful phase that happens when you discover a character/fandom/pairing that just grabs your heart and runs away with it.

And that? Is perfect. Is it sad that I think I know who you're referring to when you mention how people feel about Warren? ::loves Warren::

Awwww. How can you NOT love Scott?

Scott/Jean leave this pleasant little ache in me *right here*.

Damn you Marvel.

Don't they just? They're like a pair of puppies that you can't help but love because they ARE love.

Jean will be back. Jean ALWAYS comes back.
