Wow, this was terrific! I loved the chimaera girls and their quiet battles, and their increasing determination that those battles not be quiet any longer. And the Chinese magic, as you said, is fascinating!

Thank you very much. It can be tough being a chimaera, but I think these girls will do all right. ;) As for the Chinese magic, like I said in the notes, it's entirely fyreworks's baby; I just suggested things she might want to research. *LOL*

I'm pretty confident about giving you the blame for the fact that this so-called epic blew up in my face. I can clearly remember a couple weeks ago being at work, minding my own business, when all of a sudden I got BOMBARDED with a series of links that may or may not relate to the story I was planning on writing.

So yeah. I'm preeeetty sure it was going to be a decent sized fic, but now... now it's... exploded *sobs* It's all your fault!

There's no way this is entirely my fault! YOU'RE the Tolkien fan; I'm the Marvel fan. YOU actually like rambling historical classics; I watch BBC versions. YOU slogged through the entire works of Shakespeare INCLUDING the boring as hell histories; I watched the movie adaptations. It's not my fault you feel like you have to plan every minute detail in a story, research the living HECK out of it and then use every single bit of research you've acquired instead of just looking things up as your write the SHORT fic like all other sane ficcers.

minisinoo had some good recs tonight. :P Betsy's been one of my favorite X-men characters for a long while, and it's always nice to run across HP fic that doesn't completely destroy Cho. A fic like this with both Betsy and a non-demonized Cho is a gem, really.

And I like the Rahne cameo/mention, too.

Thank you very much. I must admit, I can be a reactionary writer. I've started liking Cho ever since I found how many Cho-bashing fics there are out there. *LOL* She's an interesting character-- born in the tail-end of a civil war, the dynamics of coming from an immigrant/first generation culture, first boyfriend died, thrown into a second civil war. LOTS of sand in that sandbox.
