My first Road Trip that was to go somewhere without a family member or teacher at the other end was AB 2K3, suffice to say life has changed alot since then. (Met a great deal of my "convention friends" for the first time in person, and it was the prelude to my joining AB staff.)
Life's weird for the direction it takes you sometimes. I still find it hard to believe after working only 4 convetions on AB staff I'm being considered for one of its department managers. Somewhere inside me there's the timid kid I once was asking how the Hell I got from him to my present persona. It comes down to just wanting to feel like your life is in a spot your comfortable with, yet at the same time, it's practically human nature to always want to something better than the current norm. If something has a chance to make us feel one step closer to content, it's probably worth trying for.
