Here we are again, Yom Kippur [1] afternoon. We’ve celebrated the coming of a new year, again; tasted the sweetness of the apples and honey, again; wished each other Shanah Tovah [2], again; spent the last 10 days in contemplation of our actions

Okay. Wow. Now that's what I call a sermon. Something I go to my place of worship hoping to hear.

Why? It gave me food for spiritual thought and further reflection, balm for my soul and you added a smile. As you know, I'm a Southern girl so I'll say that ain't a bad day's work.

And the balm part? That sounded like the cliche it usually is, didn't it? Something you toss off casually in writing or speech?

Nope. I meant that literally. There was something soothing, restorative and helpful to me in your words. Specifically today. But tomorrow's another again, is it not? I will gratefully carry your words with me.

Hey Hawk

Really glad you liked it our kid. And gladder still that it did what I had intended it to do, be uplifting and positive.
I know the reason behind all the confessions and recitations of the High Holy Days, and I agree with them to a point, but that totally one sided treatment of peoples behaviour really, really bugs me.

The sermon I give is the last sermon of the day so I always try to make it a positive life and hope affirming one. I'm chuffed I succeeded. :-)

And yes 479! heheh Course my uncle was a cinema manager so I got in free a lot. :-) And 398 for Empire Strikes Back and only 248 for Return of the Jedi, heheheheh.
