SEVEN. [Action]

[Fenimore's spent much of the morning walking the road between the shops and house 34, ferrying large bottles that she's filled with every bead she can get her hands on. She's walking quickly, or as quickly as her fairly short legs will allow, and her expression is purposeful. Before it starts raining, she can be found struggling to transport a ( Read more... )

[Sokka happens to notice as he's passing by and even walks up behind her to watch all sneakily at her work. He never knew Fenimore was so artistic. He might get away with getting unnoticed, but lately he's been feeling like he really should work on his flute playing more. Which means he's playing it now, trying to play a rather indistinct tune. Badly.]

[At first, she tries to ignore wherever the bad flute playing was coming from, loathe to leave her work, but, after it distracts her for too long, she turns in the direction of the sound.]

...Sokka? What are you doing?

Uh. Practicing. [What's wrong with that?] What are you doing?

[She wrinkles her nose a bit, wanting to say that he needs a lot of practice in that case, but she's temporarily sidetracked by the question.] What does it look like?

[Adell, taken by his own fancy of creative juices, takes a walk around the village, despite the rain. Actually, it was helping. ...However, the umbrellas by one of the bridges catches his eye. He's going to walk on over to investigate, to see Fenimore weaving a complex tapestry of beads. By this point, the ocean's pretty much in plain view.

He'll stop and admire her work. It may not be the greatest thing in the world, but it's certainly nice.]

...Wow, Fenimore. This is pretty cool!

[She looks up when he speaks.] You think so? [She looks back at what she has so far critically. She's having the trouble of her inspiration being much loftier than her skill can manage, as often happens with art. But then she looks back at him, sounding more confident.] Well, I do this kind of thing all the time. Although I've never made one this big before....

Huh. I didn't know you liked doing this sort of thing. What made you decide to make something so big? The ocean looks really good...

[Honestly, she's not entirely sure. But when she stops to think about it, the last comment gives her an idea.] I guess it's just that I was thinking about the ocean back home. It's been a long time, so I wanted to do something to remember it by.

[She's out in the rain all day today because there is something distinctly in the air. Here's a girl with a bright red umbrella just watching what you're doing with a look of fascination.]

[It takes her a few minutes to notice, even with that bright red umbrella, but eventually she looks up.] Oh, hello Shirley. What brings you out in this weather? Though I guess you mightn't mind the wet. [What with the way "Shirley" doesn't mind getting dirty.]

I don't mind it at all. I thought I'd go for a walk and admire all the colours. [She smiles.] Hello again.
