Tragedy in PondLand...

Aug 10, 2008 13:28

I don't really post many personal things in this journal anymore, and when I do it's pretty important to me. With that being said, I just have to get this out. We've had a Koi pond for about 10 years, and as of just this week we've lost most of our large fish. Possibly we will lose all of them soon. :(

Cut for tl;dr purposes... )

I'm so sorry about your koi fish :( . It's hard to lose a pet, especially if they've been around for so long. Hopefully, your other koi will get better under your care. I had no idea about koi and your pictures are very nice.

Thanks. It's just such a shock to me that we're losing all of them so quickly. I hope they get better too- my mom is obsessing over them.

Thanks. I wish I had pictures to show the rest of the pond. It really is beautiful with all the plants around it.

We're really worried about the others too. I don't know if it's just because they're afraid (the younger ones are pretty new and aren't used to us yet) or if they're sick too. Some of them did eat the last time we fed them. That was a few days ago though. :(

We've never experienced such an epidemic before. The disease, whatever it is, is terrible. My mom has been doing a ton of research and has been trying everything but it doesn't seem to be working.

Yeah, I think it would be right that we do call the place. We're definitely not getting a fish from that place ever again.

I'm so sorry to hear about the koi pond. Those fish are gorgeous. Their faces are so expressive! And to have had them that long it's even worse. :(

I second the suggestion to call where you bought Linus and let them know of the troubles. ((hugs))

[hugs] Thats awful news. I really hope they pull through. It makes sense that your Koi are part of your family if they interact with you on those levels - much like parrots & cockatoos, cats & dogs. Fish eating from your hand is the most awesome feeling.

I'll third the suggestion for calling the place you got Linus. They may have a suggestion that will help yours, or you may be able to help them.

& n'aw at Bean & Marley - Marley's face is priceless!
