I read somewhere about this theory, the reminiscence bump, this theory states that it is during your late teen to early adult years, 18 years to 24 years, is when you experience what you would later call your favorite books, films, music, etc., and in short the reminiscence bump represents events that are part of the core definition of who you are

That's an interesting idea. I would put the range at about 15 to 20, though -- I'm sure it varies by individual.

It might be more accurate to say tastes and other inclinations become "fixed", more or less, during this period, than to say you find your favorite movie, song, book, etc.

It seems to make sense. I mean it's supposed to be the period where you "find yourself," so whatever influences you during this period must be who you "are," at least in your own mind.
