Go from this to this: 
Using PS CS2, but can be easily modified.
1. Crop your base down to 100 x 100. I rotated the image a bit using free transform (Ctrl + T).
2. Duplicate your base. Desaturate it and set it to soft light. Then duplicate that layer (two desaturated soft light layers).
3. New fill layer. Fill with #1c0c46 and set to exclusion 100%
4. New fill layer. Fill with #3ab773 and set to exclusion 40%
5. New fill layer. Fill with #fdc273 and set to multiply 26%
6. New fill layer. Fill with #ec81b4 and set to color burn 18%
7. Duplicate one of the desaturated layers twice and drag them to the top.
8. Add text and you're done! Final:
