Newer isn't always better. You are far more functional and unobtrusive. Horizon is like that "loud guy" that resides in most every office scenario.

i personally like how the xcolibur scheme looks better, as do a lot of users, but the fact is it can only withstand so much. lj has been adding a lot of stuff lately and pretty soon its going to get to the point where each section is going to extend beyond one line in links when you mouse over the menu... kind of annoying. ive gotten used to the new layout so i like both :) its all matter of just getting used to it in my opinion.
