I'm not a member, so I could not post this in the CS LJ comments--but I wanted to tell you how very sorry I am for your loss. I agree with you that "overweight" is a descriptor and not fatshaming. It was a detail mentioned in a story. I think to treat it as "bad word" implies that being overweight is bad; and if they are trying to avoid fatshaming, they are being hypocrites about it.

Every damn comment focused on the fact that she described the physicality of the man calling her a bitch for doing her job. That was shitty. Thank you for posting in the OP's defense.

I found it disgusting that the person arguing with you about hurt feelings via generic descriptors couldn't bother to even offer sympathy to you, even after you shared some of the things you've gone through.

So, once again--I'm so sorry that happened to you. I'm sorry you lost your partner in such a horrible way. I'm sorry everyone is an asshole. :( <3

Thank you so much, that means a lot. I agree that it's very hypocritical of them, but it just seems like Livejournal these days is full of people who you can't please and get offended if someone dare have an opposing opinion. I just can't believe that because she added that one word into her entry her being called a bitch for no reason got minimized and justified. It wasn't like she went up to him and said "hey, fatso!" I know I'd much rather be considered overweight by someone, which is true, vs. something not so kind. That's why I shared my story, I was hoping they were seeing I wasn't coming from a place of malice, just having an opinion, and I get called heartless. I don't understand people on here these days. It's sad. :( thanks again for your kind comment! <3

The user silverdragon729 is a bully. I noticed especially in the Rules thread when they condescended to anyone asking a valid question, instead of politely reminding them to direct questions to PM.

Because you disagreed with a rule, that makes you fair game to ridicule and ad hominem attacks--all while people maintained how Not Okay it is to notice that some asshole is overweight. It's just so shitty.

Silverdragon729 said you had empathy problems, but you were empathizing with the fucking OP--all those comments about "don't call that guy fat" were completely disregarding her experience.

Anyway, yeah, I'm sorry everyone is an asshole. You were not wrong. It was important to me that you know that. <3

Right. I noticed the poor OP hasn't said word one, probably because she was afraid to be dogpiled on. UGH. I gave up arguing with them because they'll never get it... I appreciate your comment on the post as another voice of reason, though. Thank you!
