I still am torn...good or bad??? I love them to death, but I don't want EVERYONE to suddenly like them...*possessive* I'm afraid as soon as WtD comes out, jrock will be the next "thing" and everyone will be like "OMG WTF diru fuxxing rox my sox ive lurved them 4evr!!! kyo marry me!!!!! shinyas my baby!!!"

Do you still feel that? I do~ and with them playing at Hot Topic it seems even worse...yikes maybe I'm just an evil jealous biotch...XD

oh trust me i'm also worried about that. when i first heard (like way back in aug i think?) about them playing that video on mtv... i cried. its one thing to claim to like an american band before everyone else, when said american band was "underground" but to claim to be a diehard jrock fan is WAY different. jrock isn't a fad right now because to get it, you have to really work for it, like finding places to buy it/download it...and either having to LEARN japanese or find an english site to find info on bands...i mean its work to be a jrock fan...all that hard work could go down the drain because some braindead chick thinks that she "is the most hardcore dir en grey fan ever" and knows what few details the media leaks to american audiences.

I think, when introdcuced to the goth/punk seen of Hot Topic goers, DeG will be kinda popular just because people like finding new "things" and well~ Japanese rock would so be new to them. Not us though~ and that's where the problem is. I'm all for them making as much money as they want and all, I want them to be successful...but not if success means losing the real fans admist the followers...

i feel the same way...some people tried saying that maybe jrock will come and go here and that some people might be like "omg that's just wierd.." and i would agree were it some lesser known indie band...but its DIR EN GREY it'd be impossible not to spot their talent.
its sad but i can picture some emo kid reading kyo's lyrics and being like "wow. we are like. one and the same person."
i'm ok with them coming here if they had done it like everyone else...random tour spots, maybe a con or two...but as my cousin says "they sold their soul to the american devil -- mtv."
