So in case any of my flist has missed this news, my husband's brother is getting married and decided on a Japanese themed wedding up at my in-laws home

Eep! Sounds a nightmare. This is one of those moments when I'd be making a mock one out of muslin first. Good luck; there's nothing like a wonky pattern and expensive fabric to make a very nervous sewer!
yeah, I really SHOULD have tried it on some wonky left over leopard print fabric from my mom's basement. Because who doesn't want musty leopard print hakama? I could have sold them on e-bay.
But I think it will come out. It better, anyway. I accidently made them one size to small, so Sean has to work out all month to make sure they fit.
This might sound stupid, but is there somewhere you can take the pattern to have, for a lack of a better term, converted? You know, into a traditional pattern?
No, not stupid at all. if I had huge amounts of trace paper I could have done that myself. I already DID it. The point is I shouldn't HAVE to. I paid almost twenty dollars for this pattern. Patterns are usually 6-12 dollars. All the other components have pattern pieces, I think that there are just so many variations for the pants they couldn't be bothered. *sigh*
Lol, I was just thinking about how since my mom's machine is living at my house how I should make some shitty curtains for Chateau Insane. Really, my curtains are a pretty flimsy excuse for window coverings.
BTW, what would you think about us visiting the week before Dragon Con. Cause then we'd be there, you know, already.
snort all you like. At the end of this I'll have a fabulous Japanese outfit that I can...wear to the wedding and then you'll be all like...I wish I had one. And I wish my brother in law would get married and have a crazy japanese wedding. And I'll be like HAH! Who's snoring NOW? BTW, will be in Door County memorial Day weekend, methinks!
