Rain came down, washing the dirt away. Sam watched from the window as she slipped her jacket on. She took her time zipping it up, hoping she would have the courage to do what she needed to.
She pushed the door open, then allowed it to shut again. The rain didn’t bother her but knowing she was about to walk out of the bar by herself did.
Turning, she looked at Daniel, who looked as lost as she felt, and held out her hand. “Come home with me?”
Without a word, Daniel took her hand and walked out with her.

The diner sat on the outskirts of the city. Daniel had discovered it one night and would often go there when he needed to get away from Stargate Command. It was his hiding place and he never intended to tell anyone about it.
Then he started to date Sam. No longer did he feel the need to sneak off. He wanted to spend time with her, even if it meant giving up his biggest secret.
Soon, the diner became their special spot. There they could be a normal couple. It was perfect - even if the food was a little greasy.

Sam laid in his bed, the sheet lightly covering her nude form. When he got out of bed, she shifted to watch as he went over to his desk. Sitting on top of it was a stack of notebooks and she smiled when he opened the top one and began to read.
The notebooks contained her life on Atlantis. Whenever she would feel lonely and wished Daniel was there, Sam would write. It was how she got through the most difficult year of her life.
They had given her the solace she had so desperately needed while away from him.

Daniel grinned and pulled Sam further into the forest. The full moon was lighting their way and he continued to lead her to the clearing he had found earlier in the day.
“We’re going to get caught,” Sam said with a laugh.
“Nah. Teal’c and Mitchell are busy with...other things.”
Reaching down, Daniel quickly pulled Sam’s shirt off and tossed it to the side. He looked at her in awe as the moonlight washed over her skin.
“If we get caught, I’m blaming you,” Sam laughed.
“We won’t,” Daniel said with a grin before tugging her down to the ground.

The smell of blood caused him to gag as he laid on the hard ground. Daniel groaned before forcing his eyes open. It took him a moment to focus them and when he did, he gasped at the sight in front of him.
Sam. Oh, god.
“Daniel?” Her voice was barely above a whisper as he went to her.
“Shhh,” he murmured as he cradled her close.
When Mitchell ran up, he looked at the both of them and raised his eyebrows. Daniel knew their relationship was no longer secret, and he didn’t care. All that mattered now was Sam.
