Hmmm, Ian says he watched TV last night but can't remember what programmes or anything without actually really thinking about it so he 'doesn't know' what he watched it was just 'stuff'... o.O

It's quite easy to spend hours in front of the TV but have no clue what you are actually watching. It's never something good :)

Yes.. this is perfectly possible.. From personal experience i will haev to say tht I often forget which episode of something I am watching if i have seen that episode before.. i.e. i will look up and my brain goes.. "this is such and such episode" at whcih point my brain gears down into a passive mode where I don't actually rememebr the episode. I also tend to tune out news and stuff.. this also can happen when multi-tasking.

Apparently he was also playing games, fair enough, which he didn't mention before - assuming I knew it/guessed it... Sigh...

Still, I'd remember WHAT I was watching (food program, gameshow, etc...)

There was a compelling documentary on 4 last night about September 11th. We watched that.

Sadly, I think it is common

Setting aside for the moment the idea that he fell asleep in front of the TV, it';s still common

I think a lot of people don't watch tv to watch something or because they're even enjoying it, they watch it because it's on and it's habit

Can't imagine this in our house, because we only really put TV on to watch DVD's, but we did veg in front of some crap the other night - I think it was called Surface - because our Lovefilm order hadn't arrived and we couldn't be bothered to do anything more energetic due to being shattered
