It always happens to the good ones...

I have some sad news, indeed. I found out Saturday actually.

Nicole (hypatia360), also known as Ishara, was my very first actual belly dance teacher. She embraced all us Champaign "rowdy girls" with such love and enthusiasm. She is a devoted teacher, student, mother and wife, and is just an amazing woman all around ( Read more... )

*hugs* I recently lost my aunt to cancer. We did not have much time to adjust. She started having problems in the fall, got diagnosed around November and by mid-February, she was gone. It is wonderful that your teacher has had time to attend the benefit in her honor. Hopefully she will be able to do so again, but if this is her time, know that she has made the world a better place.

It's so sad... she was doing SO well, and then, *poof*, it was back with a vengence. Cancer is such a scary thing. And I know she's so young, as are her children.

She very much did, and I hope that no matter what happens she knows that. *hugs* Thanks hon.

Eee...I don't know what to say. This made me very sad, and I have nothing but bad bad things to say about chemo and even worse to say about morphine.

I feel so sorry for her girls...they are so young.

*nods* You are actually part of why I posted this also. She had chemo and radiation therapy the first time too. It was hard on her, but she was amazing. And morphine's Class II - not much else out there stronger and legal. I know she's so outta it now... :P

I do too, and her husband. It gets worse - there's a law in IL that if you've been married less than 5 years the actual parent can take the children. Jeff and Nicole have only been married I believe 4 years... and her ex wants to take the kids. Jeff stands to lose everything right now... sad on top of sad. Pangaea's spending a lot of time with him, trying to help him through this.

Just badness...

Did she have any thing in her will on where she wanted the kids to stay. And depending on how old they are and where they spend the most of their time. Jeff maybe able to keep the girls. Also depending on how old they are they maybe able to have the girls decided where they want to stay.

I don't know... I hope it all works out o_O. I think at least one of the girls is under 10 :P.

*nods* She's an amazing woman, and it's so sad that all of this had to happen to her.

We say it a lot in my hospital too, when the super sweet dog comes in and we find a HUGE lump in the abdomen or whatever - the nicest ones get the worse prognosis. :( We feel for her AND her family.
