Joy to the world?

My friends' list is all drama and sadness, lots of stuff going on in lots of lives, real and imaginary, little and big. I've got my own little drama too, belly dance (but not Neta, I luffs her) related, that pissed the everliving hell outta me, but I'm not so sure I feel like venting it now...

It's, like, the Winter holiday season officially now. ( Read more... )

I think a lot of the general anger, sadness(not talking about any one in particular here) is do to the economy sucking right now and people trying to figure out how to pay for Christmas. I have run into way to many people fighting with a partner in stores over wanting to get this gift or that gift for a person and the gift just being out of the budget this year. But the same gift would have only been a portion of the budget last year.

It also does not help the general mood. With how many people that are unemployed right now. I know way to many people personally who are out of work. a few of them have been out of work for well over a year.

I have a friend whose wife, about 2 months ago, discovered she had a brain tumor and had to immediately have surgery and begin chemo. They have 3 kids. She appears to be recovering (as much as you can tell with these things), but when I think I'm having a bad day, I think of them and my problems seem a whole lot less significant.

You know, I get that, there are definitely worse things out there, but it's also all relative, and those thoughts don't always make it better.

One of the things I'm referencing above, for instance, is a kidney transplant on a 3-year-old boy.

I'm sure economy is part of it, but that's not all of it for sure... especially since things like gaming are some of the problems. :P

Eh, I'm trying to roll with it.
