I think I figured it out.

After seeing that I immediately thought of and googled "pork brains", and found a bunch of photographic commentary on the product where a couple years ago there was none. Not that this has anything to do with your post, other than being the trigger, heh!

ya know, it was when I realized that all of my favorite meat products were ... well, not really meat that I became a vegetarian back in jhs (and through high school and half of college). :)

Yeah... I can't imagine they taste anywhere close, though?

I'm not sure! I haven't had the canned stuff in probably 20 years or so (and I'm loath to buy a can to try it but maybe I should do a side-by-side taste test). :)
