I don't feel like I'm very different between online and offline. I guess the biggest difference is the type of things I talk about online? But that's more a matter of them being things I'm comfortable talking about only with other people who I know are okay with those types of topics. Like, I'm okay talking about fandom and BL and stuff on LJ ( Read more... )

I know how you feel. T^T Even in rl, it's so hard to make friends and it's also hard to keep online friendships going. I find that texting online friends helps a lot to keep conversations going. ^^ I totally get the whole taking-long-to-reply thing. I worry too much about what I should say and end up delaying the reply. D: But everyone worries about these things. So it's okay. :3
I think speaking out to people on twitter is a good thing! Maybe you find a fan who lives in America! :D Also, good luck on your job search!

Thank you. ^_^ I think I overthink how my words will be taken when a lot of these things, people are likely to look over for less than a minute. I think people will read more into things than they probably will sometimes.
It's been a while since I remember seeing a Johnnys friending meme on LJ either. I want to get to know more English-speaking fans too, but I don't always know where to find other ones looking for friends even online.

Np. :) Yeah, that's true! Sometimes it's easy to misinterpret people's intentions from what they write online. D:
Oh, I do remember seeing that meme too. But I'm not sure how that works exactly... ^^;;
I met a fan through tumblr but that's about it. Other than that, I don't know where to look. But I want to meet English-speaking fans in rl too!

I'm really slow with lj and bad at commenting, but this entry had some interesting contents so I wanted to say something even if it's late. XD;

I understand being shy both online and offline. I usually have a hard time around new people until I force myself to get to know them better and allow them to know more about me too. But it's never easy. T__T I hope you can make some friends on twitter, I find it a good way to get to know people and talk with them. Whenever I feel lonely I know there's always some conversation or someone to talk to, so I take out my phone and open twitter. XD

Good luck with job hunting!

I'm pretty bad at commenting too, so I understand a little.

Twitter does feel like it's pretty big on interaction and users communicating with each other. Sometimes I don't get as much of a response as I want, but recently I've been having a long conversation on twitter with a Johnnys fan living in Taiwan I happened upon on Twitter. ^_^

I am so like you when it comes to this. I'm a pretty shy person, but sometimes it's just easier for me to express my thoughts online because I have a little time to think out what I want to say. I also wish I could find more people irl who have an interest in Johnnys too. For some reason all the people who are my age find it "weird" to like Jpop groups, yet it's okay to like 1D *shrugs* :/

I've tried to get people who are into Japan or Asian music into J-pop and Johnnys in particular, but I'm never aggressive enough for it to stick. ^^ About the only people I've had much success with are family members. xD
