You know...? Oh dear. Dad didn't want a lot of people finding out... never mind, it's hardly your fault. Just don't tell anyone else, okay?

Thank you for your concern though... it means a lot. It's hard, but I guess I'm coping reasonably well, under the circumstances. I'm just trying to make this as easy on Dad as possible. I know I'll need my own support, too, so it's really good to know you'll be around, that you care. What about you? I know it was bad news for you, too.

It was bad news. I'll be there for him. I have so much respect for your father. I'll come visit tomorrow if you'd like. I'd like to tell him in person. You both helped me when no one else would and I'm forever grateful for that. I'll be there for you too, Tasha. I'm glad we're friends now. You mean a lot to me.

Dimitri... oh, sweetheart. You've brought tears to my eyes, happy tears. I'm just so emotional... thank you. Thank you so much. I'm so glad we're friends, too. So fortunate to have this second chance. I promise you, I'll never give you cause to regret it. And I would love so much for you to visit tomorrow. I'm going out for coffee with Sergei when he finishes work, so maybe you could join us there, too?

I certainly don't think anyone could blame you for being emotional. I know you won't, Tasha. I trust you. I've seen how you are with your friends and family. They're all so loving and you are too. I feel lucky to count myself amoung those people. I would love to see the both of you. Do you want me to come see Peter before the coffee, or go home with you afterwards?

Reasonably well, Dimitri, thank you for asking. Cancer casts a long shadow over my life at this time, but as those afflicted are coping well, I am holding onto my strength to catch them when they fall. I am fortunate to have three beautiful wellsprings of strength always by my side, and many more to go to should my own strength fail.

And you, Dimitri, is all well with you?

I miss Katja. But everything else is going fine. I'm saving up money to get my family over here and then I'm going to go to University. I'm going to do what I always wanted and that makes me very lucky.
