I have been sadly disappointed by them on a number of occassions, this latest being their peaches...

naps are good. I may indulge in one myself as I've just achieved both children being asleep at the same time

I'm sure that you're more than capable to be running a unit. I was Guider in charge when I was 18 and I know what you mean about people looking at you and thinking "surely not" as you look too young. But the Brownies probably think you're ancient lol

Perhaps not ancient, but I am confident they have all now grasped the fact that I am no longer at school...

Naps VERY good. But only if you actually manage to fall asleep...

The playlist for the agility badge is... interesting. Turns out I don't have huge amounts of Brownie-friendly music. There's only one Barrowman song, though. Oh also, I put Because We Want To on there, for cheesetastic purposes, and realised that lots of them weren't even born when it was released. I'm so old.

Don't think I've noticed anything out of the ordinary either way about Tesco fruit... maybe am not very observant.

I have such Guiding envy... am resigned to the fact that they don't want me, because it has been nearly three weeks since "yesyes you would be so useful we will ring you back straight away". Grrrrr.

Have you tried finding a Unit nearby (in a handy church, for example)? Failing that, you can always come to me...

I've never been GiC of a Unit, not because I couldn't, but because I've not wanted to do it - I don't mind the 'I'm responsible for everyone in the building' bit, but I would mind the banking/accounts/rent negotiations/fund raising bits.

It can't really be much worse than running a camp or holiday & you must have done that for your Queen's Guide.

Well, to be fair I don't have a rabbit... But yes, I am expected to be available in my role as Brownie Guider almost the whole time. And with a team of new-to-Guiding leaders (who are splendacious, incidentally) there's often a lot of time spent providing support to them as well as responding to Brownies/Brownie parents/waiting list parents/members of the Parish/the Guide Guider/Scouters/other people in the District etc etc etc...

I'm one of the weird people that doesn't mind writing letters to parents and doing other paperwork. I've done bits of that as an Assistant Guider. And yes, I appreciate that there's more to being GiC than just running weekly meetings ( ... )
