Alex is in area, doing nothing of much note (he's got an earbud from his iPod stuck in his ear, the other dangling down the front of his shirt, so presumably he's listening to music) but he does watch with some interest as a tiny (for a tornado) twister sets down and deposits a woman. That's one heck of a way to end up in this place--or at least a way he's never seen happen before. As she babbles, he listens to that too, and then offers up, "You're in Xanadu."
Not exactly the most helpful but at least she knows it's not Greece or Rome.
"Xanadu! That sounds familiar somehow. Like a movie-musical about roller disco..."
While... not incorrect, that hardly has any bearing on anything. Not that it stops Dorothy from mentioning it. She presses her lips together in a straight line, in heavy thought.
"Is it on Earth? I s'pose I ought to know about it already if it were..."
"Dorothy, human." She punctuates it with an emphatic full stop. And then looks up, takes a moment to think about it, and holds out her hand to shake. "Phoena."
Dorothy grins and shakes her hand enthusiastically. Despite being somewhat slim, she has a pretty impressive grip.
"Phoena! Are you from 'round here, if you don't mind me asking? I s'pose it'd make sense, seeing as you seem to be taking notes on new arrivals, and all."
The Doctor, of course, recognises supposedly random tornadoes as a form of unconventional travel of some people, or just one people; one Dorothy Gale people. So it's not an entirely unheard of thing for the Doctor to run straight into the Agora to go and greet her.
"It's Greek," he supplies helpfully immediately upon arrival, as usual walking into a conversation where he might not have been entirely invited to be an annoying know-it-all in. But it's Dorothy so it's okay. "But not in Greece. No idea where we're in, actually."
"Uh huh. And I s'pose you didn't get here the same way I did." A pause. "You didn't crash, did you?"
It should be stated, for the record, that Dorothy does not find it at all odd that she should arrive in a new, strange, wonderful place at around or close to the same time the Doctor does, to the extent that they bump into one another almost immediately upon her arrival. Coincidental? Maybe. Fortuitous? Yes. Beyond the realm of all sense and reason? For Dorothy, absolutely not.
"Oh, Dorothy!" Wendy calls down, merrily. "I am quite persuaded that if you should be lost, you shan't be for long."
It may be a bit of a challenge to find the captain at first glance; the reason for this, of course, is that she is very primly perched on top of a charming double lamppost, her knees crossed and one hand balancing her where she is.
Considering the direction her voice comes from, it's not too long before Dorothy glances up and grins at her dear slightly psychotic maybe friend.
"Captain Darling! Well, can't say I'm not glad to see a friendly face. What are you doing here? This isn't your world, I shouldn't think!"
It's perhaps not very polite to call across to Wendy the way she's doing. Perhaps she ought to climb that lamppost. It is taunting her, after all. Standing there, all... vertical.
"Visiting, my sweet, visiting! I like to see that Wonderland misses me before I return." ...Wonderland isn't her world, either, Wendy just likes having a boy in every port. And since she isn't coming down, Dorothy really ought to go up. It's logical.
It is entirely logical. Let it never be said that Dorothy is an illogical person. (...Okay, plenty of people say that all the time. Shh.) Whatever, she's climbing up the lamp post. And she does it rather expertly, apparently, because she's up the thing quick as a wink and sitting across from Wendy on the other arm of the lamp. She appears quite proud of herself.
"Always a good strategy. Like to think I do the same with Oz, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't just avoiding Ozma half the time." She leans in, as if imparting something of Great Import. "The other half I'm just having too much fun somewhere else."

"I'm Dorothy, Dorothy Gale. I'm from Kansas, which I s'pose makes me human, far as I can tell. Pleased to meet you!"

Since that's naturally the most important question she could ask.
